Exercising is an important part of staying healthy. During this current time, performing an exercise routine often involves creativity. Luckily, you can stay in shape without a gym yet still benefit from a great workout. There are plenty of beginner- friendly exercises that you can do from the comfort of your home. Here is a look at some:
Wall pushups are a great way to experience a stimulating workout while putting a unique spin on traditional pushups. Wall pushups are considered an advanced movement. However, by using the wall you are also decreasing the level of gravity weighing down on your body. Make sure that you are standing at arm’s length from the wall. You also want to make sure that your hands are shoulder width apart. Wall pushups help stimulate your glutes, quads, and core.
The towel row workout will really make you sweat. It stimulates your back, upper body, and forearms and is a great way to stimulate your core. Assume a half-kneeling position and draw your rib cage down toward the floor. Straighten your arms over your head and continue performing the exercise for around 40 seconds. A resistance band will further increase the challenge and heighten the results.
Lunges are a beginner-friendly exercises that will help you build strength. They are also a great way to enhance your cardio ability as just a few seconds of performing the exercise will increase your heart rate. Start with the reverse lunge position to build strength in your quads, glutes, and hamstrings. The key is to make sure that your knees are bent at a 90 degree angle.
The superhuman is another exercise that will make you sweat. This pulling type of exercise can help prevent muscle imbalances. Lie face down and stretch your arms wide over your head. Lift your arms, legs, and head off the floor. Hold this position for a few seconds. For a higher intensity workout, lift your chest and keep your elbows back.
Bug movements allow you to strengthen your core. It’s a great way for you to stimulate your pelvic floor muscles. This is also one of the top beginner friendly exercises that can help strengthen your lower back, keeping it pain-free in the future. Lie on your back with your knees bent at a 90 degree angle. Make sure that you keep your core tight. Bring one arm over your head and straighten the other leg. Once your arm and leg are above the floor, hold the position for a few seconds and then repeat the exercise on the opposite side.
Split squats work the glutes, core, calves, and hamstrings. Split squats involve movement while staying in the lunge position and can help your body develop a great range of motion. Your feet should be under your hips and your knees should be bent. Without moving your feet, straighten both legs. Repeat the exercise with your other leg. You can increase the difficulty of the exercise by using a chair and extending your feet so that they hover over and then land on the seat of your chair.
